The USDA is funding and assisting the growing bison industry.  The U.S. Department of Agriculture is assisting and funding the bison industry from processing, production, and marketing through various financial programs and grants.

On Sept. 18, 2025, the USDA announced USD 3.38 million in grants to fund the growing bison industry, "The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced $3.38 million in grant funding awarded to three organizations through the Bison Production and Marketing Grant Program (BPMGP).
